Let’s Get Digital this week with our next employee spotlight – Jen Green. Our Let’s Get Digital segment features staff members from different departments around the office. Teamwork makes the dream work, and our employees know how to get the job done!

Jen joined the Vervocity team in February 2022 to oversee our marketing department. She currently manages multiple marketing campaigns and has helped both our clients and department grow over the last two years.

Let’s explore Jen’s passion for digital marketing and discover what it means to be a marketing services manager.

1. What motivated you to pursue a career in marketing?

Whether you have a new small business or an established corporation, everyone can benefit from marketing services. No one strategy is identical. Marketing challenges you to be creative yet analytical to understand market trends and consumer behavior. Being part of reaching a business’s goals is rewarding.

2. What are common reasons clients invest in digital marketing?

There are multiple reasons why a client may invest in digital marketing, but there are a few that I hear regularly.

  • They want to generate leads.
  • They’d like to target a particular audience.
  • They want to increase brand awareness and increase customer reach and engagement.

3. What are some of the services you manage?

As the marketing services manager, I manage marketing department projects which includes branding and logo development, graphic design, search engine optimization, advertising (including pay-per-click, pre-roll, display, etc.), social media management, email marketing, and copywriting.

4. How do you align digital marketing efforts with the overall goals of the company?

When clients hire us, they expect us to be an extension of their team. Our team takes the initiative to gain a deep understanding of that particular client’s business model, branding, goals, audience, etc., to align goals moving forward. This is essential for a successful digital marketing strategy.

5. How do you adapt digital marketing strategies to changes in consumer behavior or market trends?

As a marketing agency, it’s our responsibility to be up to date on current trends and changes in the market/consumer behavior. If you aren’t constantly learning and adapting in marketing, you are already behind. Our team is in constant collaboration to research and adapt our strategies to fit each client’s needs and realign with market or consumer trends.

6. What does an average workday look like for you?

An average workday includes supporting our marketing team, communicating with clients, and conducting project updates and management.

7. What do you like most about working at Vervocity?

I have always enjoyed the diversity of clients and projects Vervocity works with day to day. Not to mention I’m thankful to be a part of such a creative and collaborative team!

8. What advice would you give to someone interested in a career in marketing?

I would recommend starting with any kind of courses or certificates you can get your hands on. There are tons of free courses available online. Find someone in the industry and meet up for coffee. Have a conversation with them to get an idea of what kind of marketing you are interested in and what steps you can take.

If you are a hands-on learner like myself, you can look for opportunities to gain experience. It goes a long way, and seeing what you enjoy most may surprise you.

9. What is a fun fact about yourself?

I am an avid lover of animals and have one dog, Charlie, as well as two cats, Luna and Felipe.

10. What would you say to potential clients interested in hiring a digital marketing agency?

I’d encourage them to reach out and just start the conversation. We want to learn about your goals, your pain points, and how Vervocity can help.

In my role, I take pride in establishing a relationship with each client so I can understand how I can best support them and their business through our services.
