CRAFTING CONNECTIONS
St. Francis Solanus School fosters a sense of community between its teachers, parents, and students. With this in mind, we collaborated with the school to create a Welcome Packet that extends a sense of belonging to prospective parents looking for a quality education and welcoming community for their children. The packet is designed to continue the connection with families who have taken their first step into the community by touring the school.
Our focus for this project was to blend the school’s branding with functional elements that engage and inform prospective parents. We channeled the vibrant energy of St. Francis Solanus School’s brand guidelines to create a packet that feels familiar and inviting. Our design consistently uses school colors and their new logo to reinforce the school’s identity and values.
The folder design also included a cutout for Principal Julie Radel’s business card as a personal connection to the school. The business card is easily accessible and ensures every question or follow-up is just a call or email away.
DETAILED ORGANIZATION
Absorbing new information can be overwhelming, especially when it’s presented verbally during a tour. We designed the Welcome Packet to include clear, digestible information on separate pages. Each page or pamphlet addresses a different aspect of the school, from academic programs to extracurricular activities, that is discussed during the tour. The organized layout ensures parents can easily find and focus on the information most relevant to them, making the whole packet a tool for information and school promotion.
Along with providing quick access to school information on paper, we also included QR codes throughout the packet for digital access. A simple scan with a smartphone links parents to resources on the school’s website. The QR CODE INTEGRATION creates an interactive, layered experience to combine the personal touch of the physical packet with the broad reach of digital access.
Each element, from the font selection to the paper quality, was carefully designed to leave a positive, long-lasting impression of St. Francis Solanus School in the minds of prospective parents.
