Let’s Get Digital this week with our next employee spotlight – Melissa Wayland. Our Let’s Get Digital segment features staff members from different departments around the office. Teamwork makes the dream work, and these employees know how to get the job done!
Melissa joined our team in 2020 as the Administrative Assistant and has been handling many of the Vervocity inner-workings ever since. This week, we take a look inside her passion for projects, clients, and a good cup of coffee.
How would you describe your role as the Administrative Assistant?
My role as the Administrative Assistant is challenging, fulfilling, and fun!
What does an average workday look like for you?
An average workday for me can vary considerably. I could work on a few, or all of my various assignments on any given day. These include customer service, sales support, videography & photography project management and assistance, accounts receivables, and record keeping.
What tools do you use to stay organized?
I love a good spreadsheet and a to-do list. Also my planner and email inbox.
How do you stay motivated throughout the day?
Coffee, lots of coffee. But seriously, with the terrific clients we partner with, and the great team and projects I am a part of, this is never an issue!
What are some of the most fun projects you’ve helped with?
I have really enjoyed assisting with shooting videos and photos for clients like #belikegrace, Knapheide, and Farm & Home Supply. Each project has been unique and a totally new and fun experience! I also really enjoy assisting the sales team with preparing proposals for new, exciting projects.
What do you like most about working at Vervocity?
Our ongoing efforts to challenge ourselves, improve our methods, and provide up-to-date and relevant products and services to our clients.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Take every opportunity to learn or try something new. Be brave.
What is a fun fact about yourself not related to Vervocity?
I enjoy all things crafting, interior design, music, and gardening.
